Student Cluster Competition        

The SC16 SCC will be the first competition entered by a team from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. As such, they are representing UIUC under the simple banner of the University of Illinois team. "Nothing special just representing our university."

For their competitive edge, team members cite "Solid vendor support, top-class faculty advisors and highly motivated team members." Getting to SLC will take them about seven hours, including layover, but they figure the trip is worth it and are looking forward to seeing the latest offerings from vendors in the field, meeting with HPC experts and other talented students.

For fun, team members pursue a broad range of interests, including sports, electronic projects, competitive programming and photography, to name a few. But they can all agree on one thing: "Our team is composed of internationally recognized popcorn connoisseurs."
